Position Summary:
Support the project in the transportation and lifting of heavy modules and equipment. Work with project personnel to develop handling criteria considering type of movement equipment (platform trailers, barges, ship, etc.). Develop cost estimates, schedules, sequencing and execution plans. Work with procurement to develop contracts for naval architects, barging, land transport, infrastructure and coastal engineering. Provide CAD layouts and sketches to show travel routes for modules, rigging drawings for crane lifts and stow plans for barging. Manage and coordinate the various contractors during the loading, sailing and installation of sea lifted modules to Alaska and other arctic and non-arctic locations. Yearly sealift requiring 4 to 6 weeks in the field and other domestic and international trips.
Requirements:
BS Degree in structural, civil or mechanical engineering. 5 to 10 years experience in engineering for the land and marine transportation and rigging of modules and equipment. CAD, Word, Excel and Power Point capable. Strong writing and communication skills. Some experience in structural design of rigging equipment. Experience in running small projects.
