Maximum Reach Handbook of Tables Example 1.

Suppose it is desired to find the maximum reach across a 50 ft structure for a crane equipped with a 100 ft boom. Look first to the column where the structure heights of 50 ft begin; then look across this row to the "boom length" column and down this column to a value of 100 ft. A maximum reach value for this combination is 24.7 ft. Also note that the distance from the structure to the center pin is 42.3 ft, the boom angle is 50.1 degrees, the height above structure to point sheave is 32.7 ft, and the operating radius is 67.0'
